Full Job Description

A GP Associate Dean role for London has become available at 2 sessions per week with a view to starting as soon as possible. The role is designed to support retention of the GP workforce with a particular responsibility for those seeking a return to the performers list practice after a break or those who qualified abroad and are seeking to join the performers list in the UK. You will be responsible for assessing applications, finding suitable placements and supporting doctors as they progress through their training posts. You will also be required to prioritise supporting retention in under doctored areas and in contributing to other initiates designed to support retention in London., The Associate Dean will have local responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and management of postgraduate general practice activities across London as well as providing input into the development of the primary care workforce throughpromoting multi-professional education. Responsibilities will include, amongst others:

  • To support and work with the Head of School for GP Education with the preparation, implementation and management of postgraduate general practice foundation and specialty training schemes within their patch.
  • To develop links and liaise with the Royal College of General Practitioners and the General Medical Council on the approval of posts selected for general practice training.
  • To liaise with emerging training hubs in their patches.
  • To liaise with internal and external senior stakeholders over issues relating to specialty training for general practice., NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.     £122,470 a year GP03 in line with the GP Educator pay scale. Per annum, pro rata.
