Full Job Description

Training Programme Directors have specific responsibilities as agreed in their job plans but retain corporate responsibility with the LTPD for the organisation and supervision of specialty training programmes for general practice within NHSE in line with the national curriculum., Key elements of this are:

  • Organising and delivering the taught course to doctors in GP training
  • Advising and supporting hospital and GP trainer
  • Resourcing the assessment system (ARCP)
  • Support to doctors in difficulty, including early warning, needs assessment and support to trainers of such doctors
  • Training the workforce (GP Educationalists, admin, GP and hospital trainers, educational and clinical supervisors)
  • Supporting the Lead Training Programme Director as required to fulfill the School's agreed functions, NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
