Full Job Description

As a Graduate Accounts Assistant, you'll be providing support in financial reporting, analysis, and accounting tasks. Your role will involve assisting with the preparation of financial statements, budget management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Your day to day will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journals, reconciling accounts, and analysing variances. Help with the maintenance of accurate financial records and ledgers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management review.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Rotating between central and operational finance departments within the business division.

  • What are we looking for? We're looking for people due to graduate in 2025, or have recently graduated within the past three years, with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. The role of Graduate Accounts Assistant is great for you if:
  • Hold strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to use accounting software.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with financial data and interpret results.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial records and transactions.
  • Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
