Full Job Description

The role will draw upon the main disciplines of surveying including supervised inspection, measurement and valuation acting for a range of both public and private sector occupiers. You will be involved in the process of advising clients, as well as where appropriate going through the check, challenge and appeal' system. You will be allocated a dedicated supervisor and counsellor to assist you during your training, as well as tailored support from our APC training provider Your key responsibilities / activities will include :

  • Supervised inspections and site visits on a large variety of asset types
  • Support and attend client meetings
  • Compile detailed market evidence and provide recommendation to support potential cases for reductions in Rateable Value
  • Prepare Check and Challenge documents for submission to the Valuation Office Agency
  • Negotiation - with both Billing Authorities and Valuation Officers
  • Research opportunities for new business generation
  • Have a forward-thinking attitude to data sets such as Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, to provide opportunities to colleagues for Business Development opportunities
  • Teamwork - work closely with existing team members within Manchester and also nationally on all aspects of business rates advice

    A proficiency in Microsoft Office.To have an interest and understanding of technological changes such as AI and forward-thinking attitude to interpretating data and how this can be applied to the surveying role., A good communicator, people person and team player.Good business skills.Commercial awareness.A desire to learn within a successful team and have aspirations to become RICSA desire to grow within a highly respected division.
