Full Job Description

Working with the client, architect and other engineering consultants to determine the best facade design
outcomes
- Communicating with clients, managing external relationships
- Producing sketches and using CAD to produce designs for facade details and interfaces
- Contributing to the production of technical design reports and specifications
- Carrying out site inspections, factory visits, witnessing of mock-ups and testing of facade systems
- Representing EOC at workshops and site meetings
- Collaborating with other EOC team members
- Developing own capabilities, skills and knowledge with the assistance of our facade training programme
- Participating in knowledge sharing and producing technical notes
- Participating in internal R&D and technical development
- Engage and contribute to EOCs knowledge sharing infrastructure

A Masters level degree in civil/structural engineering, architectural engineering or building technology
- Interest in holistic building design and sustainable construction
- Introductory knowledge of facade systems and typologies
- Aptitude in the engineering aspects of facades, preferably with an emphasis on structural engineering
- Working knowledge of analytical design software for structural or building physics applications
- Good organisational skills and the ability to cope with a variety of tasks
- A flexible, positive approach and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy, creative atmosphere
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels
- Desire to develop professionally, take on responsibility and contribute to the growth of the practice
- Can do attitude that drives for success
- A keen interest in architecture and a willingness to travel, Academic studies or research in facade design and detailing
- A strong motivation for sustainable design; experience in material LCA and whole-life carbon assessments
- Experience in solar analysis and daylight assessments
- Experience in programming language
- Experience in CAD software, Rhino and Grasshopper
