    We are seeking a graduate with knowledge of standing buildings and structures as well as potential archaeological remains. In this position you will bring an understanding of the built historic environment including world heritage sites, listed buildings, scheduled ancient monuments, conservation areas, battlefields and historic landscapes. You will research and analyse buildings and sites to prepare statements of significance, assess the effects of developments on the historic environment, and liaise with and advise clients, co-consultants and local planning authorities to assist in delivering positive change. You will also develop your knowledge and experience of archaeology to prepare desk based assessments, identifying the archaeological potential of sites and advising on mitigation strategies. Experience of and interest in developing skills in GIS and townscape assessment would also be beneficial., A minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent at a relevant first degree and may have a relevant post-graduate degree.
  • Relevant qualifications would be Archaeology, History, Conservation, History of Art and Architecture, Town Planning.
  • Relevant work experience will also be beneficial.
  • Full information on A level, GCSE and other qualifications should also be provided.
  • Good analytical, presentation and writing skills, together with a clear commitment to working in the historic environment field.
  • An IHBC recognised course is highly desirable.
