Full Job Description

Calderdale Council's Homelessness Service strives to support people who face homelessness by providing advice, safe accommodation and support. We and our partners work with a wide range of individuals and families at a time when they need advice and guidance, and sometimes more intensive involvement in order to navigate support and services to build resilience, gain confidence and acquire the personal and social assets they need to meet their aspirations.

We require a dynamic and forward-thinking graduate trainee with good IT skills and an aptitude for data. You will receive a combination of 'on the job' and professional training.

You will be responsible for project development and delivery, assessing and reviewing project risks, data collection, monitoring, interpreting performance, reporting, producing briefing notes and project board papers. You will also assist in the design and implementation of strategies to provide support to projects that will both help to deliver homelessness services, and prevent homelessness wherever possible, and support the evidence for direction of travel for the service and its partners.

The ideal candidate will be degree (or level 6 equivalent) qualified and already have excellent interpersonal skills developed through education, employment and/or your hobbies or interests. You will be someone who is looking to develop a career in the homelessness or housing sectors.

Your application will demonstrate your understanding of the Council's key objectives and how your experience will support delivery of them through this role. You will have strong organisational and communication skills and be aware of the challenges and issues that affect lower income households through the cost-of-living crisis and access to housing for vulnerable homeless people.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed., Disability Confident
