Our 18-Month Engineering Graduate Programme Joining the Leonardo Graduate Scheme is the opportunity to grow your career in hardware design. Self-directed learning is actively supported. As a Graduate Microwave Engineer you will:
- Develop lifelong skills in microwave and RF design, working on frequencies up to 40GHz, with mentorship from world-class experts in the field
- Use state-of-the-art software tools to design products such as transmit/receive modules (TRMs) and up/down converters, as well as highly integrated RF and digital boards.
- Contribute to the design and development of key components in high-performance electronic warfare (EW) systems
- Test and assess designs in our well-equipped laboratories, ensuring robust performance in extreme environmental conditions for long-term use
- Contribute to technical reviews Your role may even take you across the UK or abroad for technical reviews. Key Responsibility Areas
- Design and develop innovative RF and microwave circuits and systems for electronic warfare applications, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of RF components into larger systems
- Use simulation and modelling tools to optimise designs, ensuring compliance with system specifications and environmental standards
- Evaluate and test designs in laboratory environments, ensuring functionality and reliability in a range of operating conditions
- Prepare technical documentation and present findings to internal and external stakeholders
We are looking for driven individuals passionate about microwave and RF design, who are ready to make an impact in developing the next generation of high-performance systems. - Education: Minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor's, Integrated Master's degree, or higher degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Communications, or a related field
- Skills and interests: Strong interest in microwave and RF design, with basic familiarity with design tools like CST, or similar being desirable but not required as training will be provided
- Problem-solving and collaboration: Strong problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills and a desire to work collaboratively in a team. A proactive approach to learning new technologies is crucial Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Normally this is to the level of Security Check (typically known as "SC") for our business which includes having a minimum of five years permanent residency in the UK.
