  • Aren't sure what they want to do after university but are keen to earn a salary and build transferable skills

  • Have thought about teaching but want to try out life in the classroom before committing to teacher training

  • Want more experience before applying for the Ark Teacher Training programme (you could start your training as early as September 2024!)


  • You'll also have the opportunity to work within the subject and age group you want, ensuring that your time with us gives you the experience you need to get you where you want to go.

    We recommend staying in this role for at least one school term, but many of our graduates spend a full academic year in school to get the total value of the experience.

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK

  • Have a grade C/4 or above in Maths GCSE and English Language GCSE (or equivalent)

  • Hold an undergraduate bachelor's degree (or equivalent)

  • Not have already achieved Qualified Teacher Status, Evidence of a commitment to working positively with young people

  • Experience of overcoming challenges successfully

  • Ability to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct

  • High levels of literacy and numeracy

  • Ability to empathise and think strategically

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong planning and organisational skills

    You will act as an inspirational role model to your students, working with teachers and the wider school community to establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment where all young people are empowered to make significant progress., Candidates who studied outside of the UK will need to meet a few additional requirements set by the UK Government.   • Confirmation from UK ENIC (UK National Information Centre) or NARIC that your university degree is equivalent to a UK Bachelors with honours and your school qualifications are equivalent to a C in Maths and English.
