Full Job Description

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will contribute to several of the British Psychological Society Graduate Basis for Membership curriculum areas (Accreditation Standard 2.1.4). Working closely with Module Leaders and Programme Leaders, you will deliver socially inclusive learning opportunities for students from diverse entry pathways, including on-campus programmes and our new distance learning programmes. You will also be supported to enhance teaching using theoretically informed methodologies, so that we meet our social mobility pledge and continue to be a university for social inclusion.

Embodying the University's values of excellence, inclusion, innovation, and trust, you will be collegiate and take an active role in building friendly and supportive relationships with staff, students, and postgraduate researchers. You will work in a range of teams, such as module teaching teams, supervision teams, and marking teams. You will also provide pastoral support and mentoring to our students, particularly in supporting those facing barriers to engaging in university life, via our renowned Personal Academic Tutoring system.
