Full Job Description

Manage and lead on the design and delivery of corporate graphics activity for Network Rail’s Wales & Western region so that thousands of colleagues and a broad range of stakeholders are effectively engaged. You’ll make effective use of Adobe Creative Suite and other industry standard design software, to develop imagery that is designed and aligned to Network Rail’s communications strategy.

About the role (External)

Your Main Responsibilities will be to:

1. Support the Communications function leadership team by helping to shape the visual style and strategy of graphic design and production across Network Rail.

2. Manage all aspects of graphic design, preparing files for multi-channel distribution, mainly web, social, digital signage, mobile and print.

3. Use maximum creativity to design and produce stunning graphic designs to outstanding quality within agreed times frame.

4. Manage all graphic design activities in a structured, open and consistent manner. Work closely with business managers across Network Rail and Communications teams in delivering graphics to time and to budget.

5. Understand all relevant policies and guidelines with a view to achieving consistent tone, style, accessibility and design across Network Rail’s graphics design productions.

6. Closely manage external suppliers on graphic design projects. Help select appropriate suppliers for activities. Setup ways of working. Take control of day-to-day communications and resolve issues such as changes in scope, invoicing, delivery and quality control of graphic design production.

7. Contribute to graphic design production management processes, procedures and operational rules with the aim of delivering outstanding graphic designs that build a professional, well-regarded Digital Content team., Diversity and inclusion are more than just buzz words for us. · Proven previous experience working within a similar role

· Highly experienced in graphic design techniques, with extensive experience using design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

· Detailed and in-depth knowledge of professional graphic design practices and processes, including production for multiple channels and mediums

· Excellent traditional art skills

· Good compositional skills

· Excellent typographic and composition skills

· Great communication and presentation skills

· Excellent IT skills
