Full Job Description

Do you want to grow your portfolio with designs that will make a difference to residents and communities across the county? Kent County Council's Marketing and Residence Experience (MRX) team has a rare opportunity to join the creative team where you can expect to help push us creatively while stretching your own graphic design skill set. As the MRX Graphic Designer, you'll be working across multiple channels and formats, sometimes collaborating with our wider creative team and sometimes independently. You'll be working to develop our communications output across a very broad range of services, audiences and issues. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes graphic design and is comfortable with multiple formats including kinetic type and video. You will be responsible for:

  • Proposing original graphic design concepts
  • Collaborating with other creatives and content creators to generate engaging, and effective visuals for multiple channels
  • Helping our services translate what they need into impactful design that resonates with audiences.

You love designs that cut through
  • You know how to craft and can help others improve their content
  • You have a strong design portfolio
  • You can design for any format from digital to print
  • You love to collaborate and are highly organised
  • You have
  • Self-motivation and great design ideas
  • Confident presenting skills
  • Excellent Adobe Creative Cloud app skills including Adobe After Effects
  • The ability to ask the questions that lead to a great design brief
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to present their portfolio demonstrating why they are best suited for the role. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Work that works for you and us - let's talk flexibility! KCC is committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the county's working residents, encouraging applications from people of all ages, abilities, genders, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, faiths and those with caring responsibilities, and aspires to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves at work. Please note - if you are interested, please apply as soon as possible as the closing date for this advert may be earlier than stated should a number of suitably qualified candidates apply.
