Graphic Designer, Bid & Pursuit

Are you a dedicated graphic designer with a passion for creating impactful visuals in a corporate design environment? We're looking for a creative professional experienced in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office to join our fast-paced in-house team, supporting bid processes and producing standout content for client presentations. If you thrive under pressure, have a keen eye for detail, and love delivering creative solutions that win business, we want to hear from you. This is a hybrid role with flexible hybrid working options across our UK offices.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

As a Graphic Designer your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing new business proposals and presentations from concept to completion in accordance with our corporate branding including creating custom diagrams, amending and updating existing diagrams, infographics, layouts and preparation of interactive and print ready PDF's for client submission.

  • Collaborating with other design colleagues, co-working on projects, developing ideas and giving/receiving feedback on projects.

  • Working with bid management colleagues, providing advice, ensuring the design brief is clear and relevant to ensure that the end product exceeds expectations.

  • Collaborating and strategising with colleagues during kick-off meetings in order to build compelling, on-brand moodboards, cover options and report layouts for bid proposal and presentation documents.

  • Act as a brand ambassador advocating the correct use of the brand with internal colleagues.

  • Running your own workload by maintaining and prioritising deadlines to deliver accurate, high quality work on time. Be a proactive problem solver who can work to tight deadlines.

  • Project manage your workload by updating relevant bid management tools and content library. Updating job tracking systems and time keeping worksheets.

  • Stay ahead of new design trends and software developments to continuously improve quality of design output wherever you can and sharing with wider design team.

  • Liaising with external suppliers, such as print houses, ensuring quality of finalised documents meets exact requirements as specified.

  • How this opportunity is different

You will be joining a high-paced in-house team responsible for developing creative solutions from inception to completion in line with brand guidelines. The position is very hands-on, requiring a flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure on a stand-alone basis or in collaboration with design colleagues in order to get opportunities over the line.

An excellent eye for detail and the ability to follow brand guidelines whilst working on numerous deadlines at once is essential.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Solid experience of a similar design role within a corporate environment.

  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and advanced or intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Powerpoint).

  • Demonstrate creativity with an eye for design and layout and the ability to develop concepts to enhance deliverables whilst adhering to the company's brand.

  • Ability and confidence to work on multiple jobs and to tight deadlines with a flexible, 'can-do' attitude.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues across all job levels in order to understand requirements and how these can be met through innovative thinking and design.

  • Excellent writing skills for capturing requirements and communicating designs ideas.

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.

  • Ability to work accurately, clarifying working instructions and working to deadlines.

  • Degree (or similar in design related field) or equivalent preferable - although candidates with suitable work experience and strong portfolio will be considered.

  • Experience with shooting and editing video (Premiere), as well as animation (After Effects) would be an advantage (but not necessary). Similarly, experience of working on microsites/Sharepoint sites for client RFP's would be an advantage (but not necessary).

  • Professional, confident and enthusiastic team player with a flexible 'can-do' attitude. A self-motivator with ability to adapt to ever changing environment/deadlines.

  • How we support our colleagues

In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Plus, our agile, inclusive environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon. Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two "Global Wellbeing Days" each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself. We offer a variety of working style solutions, but we also recognise that flexibility goes beyond just the place of work... and we are all for it. We call this Smart Working!

Our continuous learning culture inspires and equips you to learn, share and grow, helping you achieve your fullest potential. As a result, at Aon, you are more connected, more relevant, and more valued.
