Full Job Description

The role will be focussed on the production of exceptional high quality graphics and imagery in support of Playstack's games, supporting a variety of campaigns and events. Your work will be used across multiple marketing platforms, in online stores, advertising and social media - as well as in the games themselves.
Working as part of the graphics team you will produce design and illustrate artwork in support of successful game launches into the market.

The ideal candidate would have at least 4 years experience as a creative designer and digital artist - they will be self-sufficient in their approach and comfortable dealing with multiple project priorities and dependencies., A passion for design, and a talent in the creation of polished imagery of the highest calibre - your portfolio would show your attention to detail on elements such as logo design, concept and key art images. You'll be extremely comfortable identifying eye catching visual solutions whilst maintaining the integrity of platform-spec imagery - grids and guidelines and safe areas optimised for maximum impact and quality - you'll have a feel for using the space in the most effective way. We are looking for a designer with a highly positive approach to concept design and smooth production.
A commercial understanding is a core element of this role - you'll chase down detail and info where needed to drive your assigned projects through to deadline. You will be comfortable estimating the amount of time a project will take you and when you can deliver it - understanding and outlining to the team pressure points you can foresee in a projects evolution as you move forward.You'll have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. You'll be very comfortable explaining your ideas and concepts in front of a team of PMs and Marketing managers. You'll take feedback and art criticism in your stride and work to fulfil the project goals on time and on visual target.
A passion for typography will sit at the heart of your work.
Our games have their own tone of voice - your experience working with different brands and entertainment titles will have taught you how important getting that thematic tone correct through the use of type, layout, graphic treatment. You'll have a passion for connecting these elements together visually - consistency and quality at the heart of your drive on each project.As a designer and illustrator - you'll be hungry to get involved in the creation of key art, website design, logos, brand guidelines, storyboards, font design, and layouts. We're looking for someone who is interested in creating content - someone who can create themed imagery in support of a game theme at the highest quality. And as part of our graphics team, you will be working directly with the video team here - where your work will move into motion, furthering the range of your contribution to the team.

Technical Experience:
You'll have excellent experience using the Adobe Creative Suite.
Typically you'll switch on Photoshop first thing in the morning, and it'll stay open all day.
Alongside this you'll need to understand Adobe Illustrator and Indesign to a very high degree.Your work will certainly be seen on screen - so a solid understanding of RGB screen formats, resolutions and best practices when it comes to making your artwork sharp as possible.
There are also plenty of opportunities to work with printed materials too, so experience of working with CMYK file setup for print would be a bonus - from posters and documentation through to bespoke merch projects.We are forever honing our skills - you'll be encouraged to sharpen your techniques too.
To learn new software and be driven to use them in your work at Playstack.
3D skills would be a help in the extreme, particularly in the pursuit of high quality themed content. Not only the manipulation, lighting and rendering of supplied 3D files from game teams - but also in your own right.
Understanding how to create 3D content in programs like Blender would be a bonus.
