Full Job Description
The Council's Environmental and Operational Services Team are looking for a Green Spaces Officer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. As Green Spaces Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery and implementation of high quality public open spaces, that we can be proud of, across the District. You will use your positive, can-do attitude to make things happen and ensure that public open space provision during the construction process and maintenance period prior to transfer complies with agreed standards.,
- Work alongside developers, contractors and planning officers to oversee the delivery and implementation of high quality public open spaces across the District.
- Assist in securing compliance with legal obligations and planning conditions relating to public open space provision.
- Advise key stakeholders and guide applicants in producing detailed public open spaces and green infrastructure in planning layouts.
- Lead on the preparation, monitoring and review of public open space policies and strategies.
A passion for and expertise in, landscaping, planning, or environmental management. - Strong knowledge of horticultural principles and practices.
- Driven, with a positive approach to problem solving and innovation.
- Strong People skills, with the ability to build excellent relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and contractors.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage with audiences at all levels.
