Full Job Description

The Ground Handling Agent role is responsible for undertaking the passenger, security and ramp handling functions at the base, in support of the NHV flying program. The primary focus of the role will be to processing of passengers and baggage through the terminal, as well as loading/unloading of the aircraft. Ground Handling Agents are the main interface with NHV's passengers, and as such, the role is customer service orientated. Respons. & areas The Ground Handling Agent primary responsibilities are:

  • Check In and manifesting of passenger, baggage, and freight.
  • Security screening of baggage and freight
  • Security screening of passengers
  • Loading/un-loading of aircraft
  • Guide and assist passengers to and from the safety briefing room to the aircraft
  • Undertake aircraft fueling, turnaround, and cleaning as required
  • Assist passengers, and solve problems during the departure and arrivals process
  • Ensure a safe environment for the passengers in the terminal
  • Work closely in cooperation with the other in-house teams (Operations, Engineering and Flight Crew) to deliver the day to day operation
  • General housekeeping and upkeep of base facilities and terminal, to ensure they are kept to a high standard at all times
  • Any other tasks as operationally required to support the base and flying program
  • Labour Conditions:
  • Working shift rotations, the current shift is Monday to Friday
  • Due to unforeseen external factors e.g. weather delays, technical aircraft etc. you must flexible and prepared to change or extend the hours of working to suit the operation of the day
  • The role does involve frequent manual handling of baggage and freight
  • Must be willing to work outside, in all weather conditions, due to the nature of the role and operation

    At least 1 year of aviation and/or relevant operational experience (desirable), Hold DNXCT certification in order to operate X-Ray equipment (desirable however full training will be provided)
  • Hold additional qualifications as deemed necessary to support the base e.g. First Aid, Fire Warden, Forklift, Airside Driving etc. (desirable however full training will be provided)
  • Languages: professional level of English (understanding - speaking - writing)
