We are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Team leader to join The Sovini Group. This position is a permanent opportunity As a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, you will be expected to:

  • carry out grounds maintenance works to domestic and communal grassed areas which Sovini Property Services manage and to instruct/supervise other team members. Duties amongst other things will include grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, pruning and bedwork.
  • ensure high quality performance is delivered.
  • adhere to contract programmes and ensure target times are achieved.
  • supervise other team members and manage workloads efficiently
  • assist in the monitoring and managing of any sub-contractors used
  • assist in the maintenance and cleaning of all plant and machinery where possible.
  • Ensure all works are carried out and completed to a high standard.
  • Provide regular updates on progress to works completed to management staff.
  • identify specific needs for customers and ensure the service is tailored accordingly.
  • build and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues.
  • identify ideas to continually enhance and improve service.

  • To be successful in a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader role, the skills you will need:
  • Level 2 qualification in Horticulture
  • Good overall standard of education.
  • PA1 and PA6 Qualification

    Experience of a similar role previously either for a contractor or directly for a housing association
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate proactive approach to the achievement of team goals
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised and demonstrate initiative and acceptance of responsibility
  • Excellent organisation skills including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, meet deadlines and achieve targets
  • Ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels within the organisation and externally
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work outside of conventional hours when required.
  • Full, clean driving license preferably with category BE allowing you to tow a trailer.

    Competitive salary - £26,841.48
  • 40 Hours - Hours per week (Monday-Friday Pattern).
