Full Job Description

Lampton School is a large, mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school. We were judged as "outstanding" in all categories by Ofsted in 2005, 2008, 2013 and 2024. We are the lead school for the London West Alliance and a SCITT in partnership with the University of Roehampton. As a member of the Hounslow Education Partnership we can offer staff excellent opportunities for professional learning and career progression.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, independent and detail-focused person to join our efficient site services team. The successful candidate will be content working outside, used to working independently, and have experience of maintaining high standards in their work. The purpose of the Groundskeeper's role is to maintain a safe, positive, clean and well presented outdoor environment around the school site by sweeping leaves and dust, and by collecting litter. Minor gardening and other site-related tasks may be assigned. The role is active and will require working in all weather conditions. Appropriate clothing and footwear will be provided.

Whilst the role does not involve direct supervision of students, the successful candidate will be comfortable working around children aged 11 to 18.

Lampton School's site team is made up of a Site Manager, a Site Officer, a Housekeeper, a Caretaker and the current Groundskeeper who is retiring after 14 years at the school. The site team is well-regarded in the school and plays an important role in school life. Third party contractors carry out daily cleaning and fortnightly grounds maintenance.

Lampton School actively encourages and supports the safeguarding and protection of all its students. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. In accordance with the DfE's Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 statutory guidance, we will complete a search of publicly available content online relating to any candidate seeking to work at Lampton School.

Please read the Person Specification and Applicant documents, and either apply through TES or send a completed Staff Application Form and Equal Opportunities Form to Sharon Samrai: ssamrai@lampton.org.uk. CVs will not be accepted.

Applications will be considered as they are received, and we may make an appointment prior to the closing date.
