Full Job Description

  • Clear, concise and unambiguous preparation and drafting of correspondence, notes of advice, applications, witness statements.
  • Conducting legal research using internal and external knowledge management resources
  • Preferably some experience of funded claims, be it bringing them or defending them
  • Assisting in the preparation of legal articles
  • Liaising with clients under the supervision of a partner
  • Developing own informal internal and external network of contacts
  • Building excellent working relationships with clients and peers within Stephenson Harwood
  • Attending business development and profile-raising events (client seminars, graduate recruitment activities)

    We are currently seeking an enterprising Mid to Senior Associate with solid competition and group actions experience (claimant and/or defendant side) to join our Group Actions and Competition team, who enjoys leading on cases and driving forward business development ideas. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the areas set out below:
  • Cartel and abuse of dominance claims (Chapter I and Chapter II);
  • Providing pre-action advice and support to clients in relation to potential competition claims;
  • Preferably some broader commercial litigation experience;
  • Preferably some experience of the new opt-out regime in the Competition Appeal Tribunal., We are currently seeking an enterprising Associate with extensive UK contentious competition and group action experience to join our Group Actions and Competition team, who enjoys leading on cases and driving forward business development ideas.
  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the areas set out below:
  • Competition litigation including abuse of dominance and cartel claims;
  • Group actions more generally - including preferably opt-outs;
  • Some High Court commercial litigation experience would be helpful;
  • Pre-Action analysis of disputes and support for clients;
  • ADR including mediation.
