We are looking to recruit to a group leader post for Montgomery residential children's home in Sheffield. You will support the management of the day-to-day operation of the home and ensure that the home meets the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality standards.

You must hold a level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or have relevant experience and have a minimum of two years' work experience in a position relevant to the direct care of children and young people. Flexible working including working evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota is a requirement with any out of hours work attracting pay enhancements and sleep ins at the national agreed rate.
We offer an excellent career pathway with training opportunities both in house and through our local universities.
We aim to provide a discriminate free, safe environment for young people to thrive and reach their individual potential in all aspects of life. All staff are qualified to look after young people through recognised NVQ, QCF and Diploma qualifications. Our homes are frequently inspected in relation to national minimum standards by Ofsted and therefore experience of inspections would be an advantage.
The environment can be challenging at times - so a positive attitude, compassion, commitment and resilience are essential. You'll use the training and support provided as well as your knowledge and experience to provide genuine care, emotional first aid and a warm, homely and therapeutic environment to the young people living with us - helping them to build resilience and achieve their full potential.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
