Full Job Description

You will be working with the Chief Legal Officer to Deliver legal services activities and functions across the Tees Valley Combined Authority Group, leading legal services for an identified entity within the Group. You will ensure the provision of high-quality legal advice to any of the entities withing the Group in order to support the planning and delivery of their plans and activities.

Tees Valley Combined Authority Group has been working hard for more than eight years to create jobs, boost the economy and transform Tees Valley - and we need your help. Thanks to a devolution deal with Government, we have the funding and powers to deliver for our people and communities - spearheading a £1.7bn ten-year Investment Plant supporting local businesses and inward investment, and driving forward monumental changes in education, employment and skills; culture and tourism; Net Zero; place and transport. The Group is formed of the Tees Valley Combined Authority itself, alongside Teesside Airport, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough Development Corporations and the South Tees Development Corporation. Successful candidates would be working on these key Development Corporation projects. The Hartlepool and Middlesbrough Development Corporations are tasked with regenerating their respective town centres, driving investment and cutting red tape. They aim to draw on the towns' rich heritage to revitalise the areas, creating thousands of jobs and building thousands of homes, protecting and enhancing key landmarks and assets to make the centres even better and safer places to live, do business and visit. The South Tees Development Corporation is involved in the regeneration of the former site of the Redcar Steelworks, now known as Teesworks. Teesworks is fast becoming the go-to place for the cleaner, safer and healthier technologies of tomorrow and sits at the heart of the Teesside Freeport. It is seeing world-leading projects call the site home, with work advancing on SeAH Wind's £900million monopile production facility creating jobs right now, with Net Zero Teesside's £4billion Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage power plant scheme aiming to develop the world's first decarbonised industrial cluster by 2040. You can be at the forefront of these exciting, once-in-a-generation projects, helping them achieve their ambitious goals and shape the future of the region.
