We are currently seeking an experienced Group Quality & Compliance Manager to join our Retail Marketing team at our Ely site and take responsibility for compliance with statutory and legislative requirements. In this role you will ensure that the safety and environmental procedures, work practices and guidelines related to Quality and Compliance issues are applicable to the DS Smith Retail Marketing Group facilities. This will cover the daily operation and maintenance of the warehouses and all ancillary structures as well as all traffic on the site., This role will have several key responsibilities including:

  • Advising and assisting department managers/directors and other colleagues in planning, organising, controlling, and maintaining a secure environment for quality work.
  • Provide all the necessary Quality procedures related to the daily operation and the maintenance of the various sites.
  • Devise and implement Quality rules to manage the movement of work through the sites to meet client standards.
  • Set up and deliver Quality and training for all employees of DS Smith.
  • Ensure that all Suppliers are appropriately KPI tracked.
  • Understand the execution of works from the Quality and Security perspective and influence improvements to procedures.
  • Maintain the continuous improvement of Quality and Security procedures and rules to further increase quality and security and minimise potential issues.
  • Provide programmes of frequent Quality and Security checks in line with legislation, good industry practice and DS Smith standards.
  • Maintain good relationships and frequently exchange information with Quality and Security organisations and other experts.
  • Maintain the Retail Marketing Integrated Management System and arrange for internal and external auditing of the system.
  • Prepare and coordinate the compliance audits and the audit process, ensuring that audit recommendations are being implemented with agreed timescales.

    Experience in a similar role within a quality function and experience of managing quality systems.
  • Previous experience of working in an FMCG/Manufacturing (or similar) environment.
  • Specialist for Quality and Security Compliance to ISO, FSC and BRC requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills clearly and persuasively, orally and in writing to a varied, multilingual audience.
  • A proactive attitude, with a continuous focus to resolve problems effectively, improve processes and performance.
  • A competent IT user with experience of using Microsoft office suite.
  • Full UK driving licence.
