Full Job Description

The role sits within the Group Finance function and assists the Head of Group Accounting and Financial Reporting with Group consolidation, preparation of UK statutory accounts and production of the Group's Monthly Performance Review (MPR). Due to an internal secondment of the current incumbent, we are seeking interim cover through to June 2025. Includes one direct report (Group Systems Accountant).,

  • To lead in the production of the Group's Monthly Performance Review (MPR) on time in full, supported by the R2R team.
  • To act as a 'key point of contact' for the Group's businesses in the production and distribution of the Group MPR and each business' MPR supported by the R2R team.
  • Be the key point of contact for the global finance team for consolidations
  • Own the Cognos Controller financial system, ensuring that it is being used to its full potential and support with the training of staff across the finance team in its use
  • Oversight of the Group Systems Accountant
  • To update the MPR template as required and to amend the production process to ensure continued timely delivery of the MPR.
  • To support the Head of Group Accounting & Reporting to manage the innovation process by working with the R2R team, and with the businesses, to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and timeliness of production of the MPR.
  • To support the Head of Group Accounting & Reporting in preparing the Group consolidation and associated documentary requirements for the Year End external audit of the Group's financial statements, including liaison and management of external auditors.
  • Perform regular reviews of the consolidated financial accounts, identifying any issues and assisting the finance team in resolving them
  • To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards
  • To support the Head of Group Accounting & Reporting in managing, improving, and implementing changes to the financial systems that support the production of the MPR and Annual Report
  • Ad-hoc queries including data extraction and analysis from Sun/Cognos Controller/Cognos TM1

    Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
  • Experience using accounting systems; Sun 6 / Cognos Controller / Cognos TM1 experience preferable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork and collaboration skills with executives, auditors and external advisers.
  • Track record of working with 'virtual' multicultural teams.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong Organisational and project management skills - ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands.
  • Output focused and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Agile learner able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business.
