We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Strategic Finance team to support the exponential growth of our business in the UK and internationally. You will play a key role in supporting the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts across various segments of the Octopus Energy Group. You will work on building and managing financial models, preparing financial reports, and assisting in strategic decision-making processes. This role will give you exposure to complex financial models and performance, including capital structure management, board and investor engagement, and financial reporting.,

  • Lead on the development and maintenance of near-term and long-term financial models across the Group, assimilating entity-level models spanning four business units, two dozen-plus entities and over a dozen active country presences into Group-level outputs.
  • Coordinate annual budget preparation across the strategic finance team and broader entity finance throughout the Group.
  • Support the CFO to identify and manage economic trade-offs across the business (growth, returns, liquidity) through capital allocation process, including evaluating impact of new lines of business (products, services) and other investments.
  • Provision of financial outlooks for the business at month end and some elements of month end reporting and analysis, including strategic overlay; support Group CFO with investor relations Q&A preparation.
  • Curate monthly financial, quarterly strategic board packs and other strategic material for the Group, including ad hoc investor relations requests.
  • Help manage monthly and ad hoc Group guarantees and capital allocation processes to subsidiaries and evaluate business cases for new requests/investments.
  • Support debt and equity funding and other projects that affect capital structure / allocation and financial risk, including work streams such as information memorandum preparation and due diligence. Help prepare financial reports and assist in lender Q&A to support ongoing bank relationships.

    Experience or knowledge in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including building and maintaining financial models.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and month-end processes (accounting degree not required).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret complex data.
  • Experience or exposure to board and investor reporting and financial presentations.
  • Knowledge of capital structure and fundraising processes is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
