Full Job Description

· To be an active participant in the multi-disciplinary team, formulating individualised treatment plans and use appropriate assessments skills to assess risk.

· To take part in all quality initiatives actively supporting and participating in both policies and service developments in the specific care group.

· Carry a caseload, including lead practitioner duties, actively working with patients and carers.

· To plan and co-facilitate group treatments.

· To participate in regular clinical, professional and managerial supervision.

· To maintain and contribute to standards of professional care, ethics, policies and procedures.

  • To contribute, to improve access for patients to local generic health care services, primary, secondary and specialist services.

  • To have competent IT skills.

  • Experience of working in adult mental health and group work., You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

    If you like the sound of that, then come and join our team., The post holder will be responsible for assessing patients, which includes assessment for suitability for the group treatment programme, and provide individual therapeutic interventions to support the group work. They will facilitate groups, manage a clinical case load including having lead practitioner responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity for a band 5 to develop skills in working within a psychological framework, and facilitating and developing groups. The GTS provides an excellent supervision package to facilitate this learning.

    The Brighton and Hove Group Treatment Service is based over two sites- East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre and Mill View Hospital. The post holder will be required to travel across sites.

    Candidates need to have an understanding of interventions relevant to the care group to include assessment, psychoeducation, clinical care and interventions, group facilitation, wellness recovery action plans and discharge planning., At GTS we are a small team who work closely together. We have regular supervisions and participate in reflective practice to work with service users in the secondary services. We support all new staff learning to co-facilitate our group program using a preceptorship model., Sussex Partnership NHS FT is committed to supporting a diverse workforce that reflects our communities.     An opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Graduate Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Brighton and Hove Group Treatment Service for a full-time permanent position 37.5 hours a week. We are part of the community adult mental heath services.

    The Brighton and Hove Group Treatment Service (GTS) offers a programme of accessible, safe, evidence-based group treatments using a cognitive behavioural approach, including mindfulness and self-compassion. The successful candidate will work within the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe patient care focused on therapeutic relationships. Alongside the psycho-educational group programmes, the GTS offers a creative group pathway that provides a safe therapeutic space where service users can develop concentration, challenge social anxiety and practice new coping skills.
