At Sandy Secondary School, we are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic self-employed instrumental tutor to contribute to the growing music department. We are open to applications from qualified Guitar tutors who will work with the department to grow the current instrumental provision. This role is part-time and would operate on a self-employed basis. The pay is commensurate with experience (applicants are requested to outline their hourly rate on their application). Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to the school ethos and is enthusiastic about working with a growing music department and promoting a life-long love of music
  • Demonstrates excellent musical ability on their own instrument(s) and is keen to inspire students
  • Is able to offer tuition acoustic/electric/bass guitar
  • Has experience of delivering 1:1 and small group instrumental teaching across the ages of 11-18
  • Wants to support students from varied backgrounds to promote inclusive music making
  • Has experience of preparing students for graded music exams (ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool)
  • Has experience building up student numbers on guitar instruments in a school setting
  • NB. Hours will be dependent on student numbers. It is currently forecasted to be 1 day of teaching per week.
