Full Job Description

Applications are invited for a fixed-term Clinical Fellow in HIV and Sexual Health at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The post is based at the Trafalgar Clinic for Sexual Health at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. The appointee will join a friendly and supportive department with an excellent reputation for teaching and training and will provide fully supervised training. The post will be available as soon as possible and in the first instance the appointment is for 6 months with the possibility to extend up to one year.

This is an ideal post for a doctor considering a career in Sexual Health/ Community SRH / HIV / Infectious Diseases wishing to gain further experience and skills in the specialty prior to obtaining a training position. You will work closely with four consultants, and an extended multidisciplinary team with expertise in all areas of GUM and HIV., The post will support the in-patient and out-patient care of our HIV patients, and will help deliver GUM care to patients who self-refer, or are referred into our specialist service. There are no on-call commitments and there will be an expectation to do one evening clinic a week till 7pm.

The department is actively involved in audit, research and innovation. The post holder will be expected to be involved and will be supported to undertake audit, research and quality improvement projects. Clinical Fellows are eligible for study leave with a supporting budget to accommodate CPD., 1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
