Full Job Description

The role will have a Trust wide focus and the post holder is expected to play a role in the safe delivery of an effective Gynaecology Cancer service that maximises patient experience and outcomes whilst ensuring the Trust is compliant with key national standards.

  • The post holder will act as the keyworker to all suspected and diagnosed Gyanecology cancer patients - and using excellent communications skills, provide holistic patient-centred assessment and care.
  • To provide psychological support and care, advice, information for patients and carers/families.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously and independently but within a collaborative integrated team.
  • Support the development and provision of the Head & Neck cancer nursing service, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, across the Trust.
  • To act as a resource and to advise health and social care personnel on any aspects of patients' therapeutic programmes of care., Gynaecology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist- Band 7 We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity of a 9-month secondment or fixed term post in ourfriendly team ofGynaecology and Head & Neck Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists. We are keen to support internal and external requests for secondment or a fixed-term contract. This role will suit a knowledgeable and skilled nurse with gynaecology support and care experience who are interested in developing cancer knowledge and skills. You will need relevant experience in gynaecology and/or oncology. As a Gynaecology Cancer CNS you will work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team ensuring that patients with malignancies receive the highest standard of care and support from the time of referral, diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway. Working in partnership with our regional centres and specialist cancer providers you will manage these patients across the pathways of care. You will be instrumental in supporting the new Nurse Led
  • Cancer Support Pathways, working with other colleagues to influence and set best clinical practice, You will acts as a Key Worker for a clinical caseload, working to coordinate care and provide easy access for ongoing support for patients. You will facilitate and support healthcare teams to implement evidence based practice, and will contribute to the development of the clinical nurse specialist service.
