Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Gynaecology Oncology Navigator based at the Royal Derby Hospital, with potential cross site working. We are looking for someone who is passionate about women's health and cancer services, who wants to help build and improve our patients pathway. You will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists and the wider multi-disciplinary team. this can be a fast paced environment with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. You will be a primary point of contact for patients and medical staff ensuring that all queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner. you must have good communication skills and be able to to communicate effectively as part of the team, with the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice. You will be fully supported by the CNS team to help meet the needs of out patients and family.Main duties of the job You will support the Gynaecology Oncology CNS team with administrative duties such as answering phones to both professionals and patients, triaging these calls and referring to the most appropriate service / person. You will liaise with different department within the hospital to chase scans and results in preparation for appointments. You will set up and complete the electronic Holistic Needs Assessment (eHNA's) with patients and also follow up actions and referrals no requiring CNS support. You will be responsible for the Gynaecology Cancer Support Group 'One Voice' and initially with the CNS support will facilitate this. Identifying key speakers and activities to undertake for the wellbeing of our patients. You will attend the weekly MDT meeting with the CNS team and assist in managing the workload generated by this. You will sign post patients to relevant support services and act with compassion and care in line with our Trust guidelines.
