Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a unique role based in Gynaecology at the City Hospital. This role is split between providing Loxley Ward PA support, providing an admin service to the gynae-oncology specialist nurses as well as gynaeoncology MDT admin support.

The full time hours are split in the following ways;

Loxley is the Gynaecology Ward where gynae-oncology and elective gynae patients are admitted for inpatient stays. The post holder will provide a comprehensive and administrative service to ward team and both ward managers, to assist the smooth and effective performance of their duties and make a direct and positive contribution to the work of the team.

They will provide admin support to the gynae-oncology specialist nurses, assisting with clinic prep and answering queries from patients and the wider clinical team.

Finally, they will attend the gynae-oncology MDT on Monday mornings to manage ghost appointments, outcomes and any other related admin., The post holder will provide a comprehensive and administrative service to clinical members of the team, to assist the smooth and effective performance of their duties and make a direct and
positive contribution to the work of the team.

The post holder must exercise initiative to organise their
own workload within the constraints of defined deadlines.

Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the clinical staff within the ward area, to include monitoring quality and audit activity, data entry and the production of charts and graphs as required.

Assist in the day-to-day administration management of workforce planning and training activities, data entry and producing training reports.

Provide administrative support and timely workforce & education information related to the Gynaecology service as required by ward manager.

To provide personal assistant support for senior members of the team/ward manager

The post holder must exercise initiative to organise their own workload within the constraints of defined deadlines. Knowledge and experience of ward administration would be beneficial but not essential. A good standard of education and experience of Microsoft Office packages including a good knowledge of Word and Excel is essential.

We are looking to employ a motivated and conscientious ward administrator to join our friendly and dynamic multi professional team caring for women

You will have experience in administration in a health care setting. You will have the ability to prioritize and respond to planned and unplanned situations and assist in the smooth and efficient running of the unit.

The post holder must exercise initiative to organize their own workload within the constraints of defined deadlines.

A key part of this role is commitment to working as part of a dedicated team by supporting the Gynaecology team to deliver the service safely and consistently across all Gynaecology inpatient and outpatient areas.

This post will also support the ward manager and clinical education team specifically in the management and documentation of training. It will also be required to attend the Nottingham Cancer Centre each Monday morning to assist the gynae-oncology MDT coordinator.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work under pressure in what can be a fast paced environment.
