Full Job Description

You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. The Northampton Specialist haemoglobinopathy team currently incorporates Northampton and Kettering, flexibility is required across the two main hospital sites., To provide specialist nursing support ensuring the quality of care provision to adults who have Haemoglobinopathy disorders using unit protocols and trust policies and guidelines.

To work with the multi professional team to provide patient focused Haemoglobinopathy services, and to initiate different forms of treatment for adults and their families in a variety of settings.

To work with the multi professional team in Haemoglobinopathy services.

To provide specialist education, training and information to patients and families.

To work with the multi professional team to monitor patient condition.

To be responsible for nursing practice development.

The post holder will:

Maintain efficient and effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, both within NGH / KGH, the network and national service.

Develop and promote working partnerships between the Trust and academic staff at local Universities involved in the provision of nursing and multi professional programmes of education.

Be a visible, accessible, and assertive clinical expert to whom staff and users can turn to for assistance, expert advice, and support.
