Full Job Description

The post holder will be part of the adult and paediatric Haemophilia service which specialises in caring for patients with benign bleeding and clotting disorders and Haemochromatosis. Bleeding disorders can often have a profound impact on the patient's life due to their complexity and complications. Responsibilities will include: All aspects of co-ordination for the patients/service users Day-to-day data input, ensuring data quality is maintained Acting as a point of contact for the information requirements of the haemophilia service Assisting other members of the haemophilia team in all administrative tasks., Communication:

  • To support the triaging of referrals by liaising with key clinical staff
  • To manage patient communications both via telephone and through Trust systems to create letters, emails and text reminders
  • To receive outpatient referrals from primary care and other sources and register referral details onto PAS in accordance with the Trust's Outpatient Standards
  • To manage and monitor all outstanding appointment requests through the Trust's Patient Administration System (PAS) and escalate any issues immediately to your manager
  • Finance and Resources:
  • To maintain, order and/or receipt stationary and essential items, in line with Trust policies
  • To assist service coordinator with finance data
  • Information Resources:
  • To check incoming email inbox(s) on a daily basis to keep up to date with departmental and Trust wide news and information
  • To have a clear understanding of performance targets and utilise reports effectively
  • To act with flexibility to utilise skills in other functions if and when appropriate or required by the role's line manager (E.g. covering patient facing reception desks)
  • To maintain confidentiality and discretion and comply with the terms of the Data Protection Act and local Trust policies at all times, children, young people and vulnerable adults.
