Full Job Description

We're looking for an experienced PC hardware writer to join the world's biggest PC gaming site, PCGamer.com. You will form a crucial part of our Hardware team's strategy to cover PC gaming technology and associated goods and services.

What you'll be doing...

Our buying guides, product reviews, features, and news are an essential part of the brand's content and you'll get to test and write about multiple products across the world of PC gaming hardware, related tech, digital services, and more.

You'll also write deal posts on essential items we love when they get a tempting price drop we want to share with our readers. We also cover the big annual sale events like Black Friday and Prime Days with targeted approaches to making sure PC Gamer highlights the best tech, with the best offers in our field of expertise.,

  • Maintain hardware content that makes PC Gamer the #1 destination for players looking to build or upgrade a rig

  • Understand and achieve the needs of PC Gamer's audience

  • Create and support with high-ranking buying guides

  • Review PC and related gaming hardware and tech products

  • Write news stories on new hardware products

  • Write deal news stories on the latest offers for US and UK markets

  • Write informative supporting content on your area of expertise as agreed with the Managing Editor

  • Maintain productive industry, PR and commercial relationships

  • Attend press events

  • Stay up-to-date on SEO best practices and put into practice on site

  • Analyse article performance (page views, transaction conversion rate, commission earnings) to identify improvements

    Excellent knowledge of the PC gaming hardware sector

  • Spotless spelling and grammar

  • Skills to explain complex subjects in a clear and easily understood fashion

  • Opportunity to learn new skills

  • A basic understanding of SEO - we'll help you become a master

  • You know where to find great deals or compare prices

  • And approach us with new ideas
