Harrow wishes to appoint an accomplished academic leader, who will serve at the level of Academic Deputy Head and work closely with the Head Master to shape and implement curriculum developments., This position becomes vacant on the appointment of Charles Bailey to the headship of Worksop College. A key part of the role is to manage the school's Head of Department team, and as such the Director of Studies is integral to maintaining Harrow's academic reputation. The role operates at both operational and strategic levels with a focus on identifying and integrating best practices in education, ensuring that students achieve outstanding public examination results, managing teaching and learning strategies, and overseeing the quality of education aspects of the ISI inspections.

Applicants will be experienced Heads of Department with experience gained in managing areas of school wide responsibility or senior leaders with strong academic credentials and management experience. They will have a demonstrable track record of improving academic outcomes and managing others effectively. Candidates must thrive in a busy and intellectually stimulating environment and have energy, drive, and resilience.
