HCA / Phlebotomist

Working with the nurse team, providing care for patients as directed by the practice nurse or GP; the post holder will be required to use their own initiative but must be able to recognise their own limitations and seek guidance where necessary. Dermatology practice includes: Assisting the Consultant Dermatologist or GPwSI in dermatology clinics either in the consulting room or the minor operations theatre. Clinical practice includes: Phlebotomy and preparation of specimens for investigation; Electrocardiogram (ECG) recording; urinanalysis; measuring and recording blood pressure, temperature, weight, height; undertaking foot checks for diabetes patients; flu immunisations; chaperoning GPs as required.
