Full Job Description

A Vacancy at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated administrative assistant with excellent communication, organisational, time management and attention to detail skills to join our existing Admin Team to support our very busy Integrated Discharge Team based at Whiston Hospital. The post will be based at Whiston Hospital. You will be working in a busy environment and closely with the remainder of the Admin Team. Communication and customer care is key is this team. The post will be varied and a great opportunity to gain new skills and enhance your knowledge and experience by working within varies settings.

  • Receptions service for visitors, telephone callers and mail.
  • To ensure that all referrals (discharge notifications) are checked, recorded and inputted on appropriate databases/systems and ensure they are sent to appropriate areas.
  • To ensure that recording, processing and updating local authority systems is in line within their specific policies and procedures.
  • Updating sickness and absence procedures.
  • Stationery and equipment orders
  • Information and data processing and reporting
  • Maintaining patient/service user files
  • Updating care plans/assessments
  • Invoices
  • Minute taking
  • Updating Master Control Plan (patients who are medically optimised).
  • All other duties that are considered appropriate to the post., To ensure the confidentiality of all patient information in line with Data Protection/ Caldecott legislation.
  • To ensure the privacy and dignity of all patients is paramount and not compromised.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date and accurate and recording is completed in line with Trust policies.
  • Maintain statistical data for the role.
  • TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others
  • RESEARCH & AUDIT
  • Assist colleagues in the undertaking of audits.
