Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a passionate Head Chef to join our Jose Pizarro team at the Royal Academy of Arts. Working in partnership between Company of Cooks and Jose Pizarro, you will have creative input across all menus the dining room, private dining room, bar and events within this historic grand building. Having access to Jose and his culinary team to create new and exciting dishes for this well established and popular Mayfair restaurant which operates for six afternoon services, Friday evenings and is closed every Monday. You will oversee the team to deliver this high standard of food of the regular changing menu, cooked from scratch on site. You will also lead on occasional bespoke events within the various galleries and spaces of the RA with the support of the Company of Cooks culinary team. Key responsibilities

  • To prepare and oversee all preparation of food to the highest standard
  • To produce food in a timely fashion to ensure smooth service to the customers
  • To ensure that all appropriate ingredients are available for the menus
  • To develop and plan menus that are in line with client and customer expectations
  • To be creative when menu planning and including the client and customers
  • Pride yourself on food quality and hygiene standard
  • Overall responsibility for managing the kitchen team
  • Provide feedback and coaching on performance
  • To ensure that the kitchen team have completed up to date COSSH and Food Hygiene training

    Company of Cooks was formed in 1996 to run the catering services at Kenwood House on behalf of English Heritage. At the time, others said it set the standard for outdoor public space food service. Time Out awarded it a Red Star in their Annual Restaurant Guide and named it one of the top places to eat, then virtually unheard of for a visitor attraction catering operation.
