Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Head of Marine, Engineering & Specialty Claims to be based in London on a full-time basis, reporting into the Group Head of Claims Adjusting. You to take a proactive approach to the management of claims and look to provide a quality claims service, which pays valid claims promptly and sets reserves at expected ultimate cost, effectively, efficiently, consistently, accurately and in a timely manner. You to take account of applicable regulatory requirements.,

  • Responsible for the management and adjustment of all Marine, Engineering and Specialty claims emanating from the Syndicate or International Distribution Companies claims which fall outside of their respective level of settlement authority.
  • Manage current outsourced delegation to Crawford & Company of all lead and second lead claims for Cargo, Cargo Liability, Project Cargo & Specie classes of business.
  • Participate in regular leadership and underwriting meetings, providing feedback on policy wordings and market losses amongst other topics.
  • Represent the Syndicate in claims meetings/discussions, both in UK Courts and worldwide, as appropriate.
