Head of Academic Partnerships

Ravensbourne University London is seeking to recruit a high-calibre individual to join us in a leadership role. As Head of Academic Partnerships, the successful candidate will be an experienced and outstanding individual who will be able to lead and inspire a wider team within the University. Leading a team of link lecturers the Head of Academic Partnerships will oversee and assure the quality of the student educational experience in and with our franchise and validation partner institutions. Through validation, monitoring and engagement meetings, staff development, quality review, and other activities, they will be directly responsible for the alignment of performance in the host academic partner with the RUL academic department and course level provision. They will additionally support the partner institutions in their development and implementation of Access and Participation Plans to match the performance expectations of the university with regards to
improvement the equality of opportunity for underrepresented groups to access, succeed in and progress from higher education. The role also has responsibility for the development and facilitation of our non contracted academic partnership activity with organisations through student and staff exchanges, collaborations, and research and knowledge transfer.
The postholder will report directly into the RUL's Dean and as such will have direct route to the executive team.
Applicants must have a higher degree, understanding of working closely with other senior staff to drive initiatives and experience of working with collaborative partners (ideally both domestic and overseas) in a HE setting. Applicants should have a proven track record of building and maintaining strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and should have knowledge of managing risks associated with partnerships work. Applicants should have experience of chairing committees and contributing to effective governance of partnerships work and a knowledge of quality assurance processes in Higher Education would be desirable, along with an awareness of recent sector developments that are likely to impact on collaborative partnerships (e.g. B3 OfS Metrics). A strong solutions-focused mindset and a proven ability to manage their own workload is expected.
