Full Job Description

The role holder will lead DVSA involvement across their services, for the preparation of the implementation of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). The role will act as the focal point for activity, and will act as the senior responsible officer (SRO) for a project (working in consort with a project manager) to pull the work together to define and deliver what is needed. The role will work across driver testing, vehicle testing and enforcement services - coordinating the work that is done by substantive roles and also commissioning work externally. This will ensure that DVSA meets DfT expectations, and that progress is made across the next 3 years in preparing DVSA for these types of vehicles.

Do you have experience in leadership and change management? Can you work in a highly technical environment and draw out the key factors from complex situations?

  • Leading DVSA's involvement in helping the define in future of how automated vehicles can operate in Great Britain.
  • Leading work on forming the plan for getting DVSA ready for these types of vehicles.
  • Leading on forming policies and procedures for how DVSA's functions will form part of the whole regulatory picture for these vehicles.
