Full Job Description

As our Head of Building Safety, you will contribute to our vision of "enriching residential communities with expertise and
passion, making our cities incredible places to live" by:

  • Delivering building safety and compliance across the entire property portfolio, through application of comprehensive building

  • safety, cladding remediation, fire safety, and health & safety knowledge and experience.
  • Co-ordinating efforts across departments to deliver best-in-class service, support communities, and promote safe living

  • environments.
  • Ensuring the relevant portfolio meets all Building Safety Regulator requirements.

  • Collaboration with clients, customers, authorities to uphold the highest safety standards and compliance..


  • What will you do?

  • Lead compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and all applicable regulations, staying up to date at

  • all times
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust safety protocols per regulatory and industry standards

  • Spearhead cladding/fire remediation projects, liaising with government agencies, project teams, clients, etc.

  • Produce reports demonstrating compliance status, highlighting risks, accurate mandatory occurrence and timely incident

  • Effectively manage compliance/safety related complaints and customer feedback

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence across the business

  • Lead client interactions, addressing concerns, providing reports / updates, maintaining positive relationships

  • Develop emergency response plans ensuring occupant safety during emergencies

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate safety into operations seamlessly

  • Partner with authorities, advisors, contractors to ensure community safety and compliance

  • Develop robust preventative maintenance plans with senior management

  • Implement reporting procedures with early warning systems for potential non-compliance

  • Provide technical building safety, fire safety, and site health & safety advisory

  • Ensure adequate financial provisioning for maintenance/compliance costs

  • Manage all fire, health, safety, building safety systems, risk assessments, protocols, Associate Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

  • The role is based in Manchester at our offices in the Northern Quarter and we offer hybrid working! UK travel will be required.

  • Significant comparable experience in similar field with excellent knowledge on current statutory and regulatory building safety

  • Strong leadership skills and an excellent, effective communicator

  • Proven experience spearheading cladding/fire remediation projects on high-rise residential buildings

  • Experience of Client / stakeholder management and reporting

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office packages as well as the ability to learn new systems (training on in house systems

  • will be provided).
  • Membership of The Property Institute (or a willingness to work towards it)
