Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Working with the Commercial & Specification teams to develop strategies for new business opportunities and an overarching strategy for the WWHRS in the Social Housing, Residential Decarbonisation & Retrofit sector.


  • Work closely with clients within new and existing framework agreements, engaging with regions within long standing framework agreements.


  • Build relationships within all sectors of our business and supply chain. This role is not an individual, transactional position, we are looking for a strategic leader capable of engagement, ideas, and interaction.


  • Learn, understand, and develop our internal systems and processes for this area of our business - everything is up for review and change, if it moves us forward!


  • Working with key stakeholders to be part of the development of products and support packages.


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.


  • Build relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, and partners.


  • Manage key client relationships and work to build new ones.


  • Conduct CPDs, webinars and presentations to raise the brand, and promote specification within your sector.


  • Selective travel to carefully selected meetings in order to progress and secure business.


  • Remote working possible, with periodic visits to head office (in Norfolk).


  • Expand the profile and reach of the company and its brand in the social housing, decarbonisation, retrofit and planned maintenance space.


  • Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share.


  • Build cross-functional teams to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth.


  • Track emerging sector policy, funding, grant opportunities, markets, and trends.


  • Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.


  • Identify and recommend new services.


  • Propose and develop strategic partnerships.


  • Fulfil requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers.


  • Help to shape the company's long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.


  • Research and identify new markets.


  • Provide advice to the relevant Recoup teams on product development and distribution and promotion strategies.

    Recoup are specialists in Waste Water Heat Recovery for Showers (WWHRS) and were acquired by Kohler Mira in May 2023, an $8B company with over 30,000 associates across 6 continents. Kohler Mira also owns sector leaders: Mira Showers and Rada Controls, in the UK.


  • We are recruiting for a Head of Business Development (Social Housing, Residential Decarbonisation & Retrofit) to develop and deliver this vital part of our business growth plan. The current function is provided by the founders of Recoup, but due to rapid growth, it is no longer possible, so needs a confident, organised, experienced and above all diligent individual to make this field their own.

    As a senior role within our business and working closely with the senior team and co-founders, this role requires a natural relationship builder, who will leverage existing and new relationships/networks to promote Recoup WWHRS. Coming from a business development background and bringing to bear existing experience and contacts in the social housing / SHDF / large-scale residential retrofit / planned maintenance space, you will liaise will all parts of our business, from our specification team to our sales team, and most importantly, our framework partners.

    This is a new strategic role at Recoup, in a new sector, that will require the successful candidate to identify, develop and focus on delivering an overarching strategy for the Social Housing, Residential Decarbonisation & Retrofit sector, which is a new and currently underrepresented area for both Recoup and WWHRS as a technology . You will additionally be required to identify and develop new business opportunities; build relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and internal teams; and drive the company growth in this sector.

    As the first dedicated person in this new division, you will be an integral part of realising the opportunity and building the structure. You will be expected to work collaboratively with existing Recoup teams to nurture existing partnerships and develop new ones; as well as leveraging all the resources available to us from our sister and parent companies. It should be recognised that, as a company with sustainability at its core, we strive to develop innovative, sustainable working practices and methods of customer engagement. We have no plans to operate traditional on-the-road sales teams. Meaning that you will be expected to direct strategy, not sales teams: ultimately, delivering sales and specification though internal and external collaboration, in a sector driven by energy efficiency policy; grants & funding; and carbon/energy/fuel poverty reduction., In the UK, Kohler Mira Ltd. is made up of three market leading brands: Mira Showers, Rada Controls, and KOHLER.
