Full Job Description
As Head of the Clinical Coding department, you will be responsible for setting, implementing and monitoring clinical coding policy, quality measures, and provision of service delivery across the trust and will work closely with stakeholders to ensure high performance across a number of key coding metrics.
Leading a large, experienced and successful team of coding professionals you will set targets for and develop the team to high standards, overseeing the day-to-day running of the department.

Main duties of the job
Leadership and day-to-day operational management of the trust-wide clinical coding service.
Development and monitoring of effectives of the clinical coding function.
Leadership of a culture of high performance and effectiveness, supportiveness and inclusion.
Ensuring the department keeps pace with technological and clinical development and classification of new procedures and techniques are in-line with latest guidance.
High-level staff development and ensuring that audit and training programmes continually improve the quality of clinical coding and clinical coder ability.
As the Head of Clinical Coding, you will hold the nationally recognised Accredited Clinical Coder Qualification (ACC) and be responsible for leading and developing the Clinical Coding service across sites, with a view to maximising coded data quality, in turn supporting the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in the delivery of its objectives.
The post holder will be expected to work with a high degree of professional confidence and autonomy ensuring an outstanding service is delivered.
