Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Compliance to lead our landlord compliance and Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) delivery for the next year. Your role will be crucial in maintaining our high standards of service to residents while facilitating our integration with our new parent group, Places for People. You will lead and manage landlord compliance and M&E delivery ensuring continuous high-quality service to our residents.
Reporting directly to the Director of Asset and Compliance, you'll lead Origin's Compliance function at a senior level being an integral part of the Senior Leadership team and contributing to achieving our corporate goals and shaping our future.
What you'll do
You will
Lead and manage a professional compliance team to deliver customer-focused landlord compliance and M&E services.
Ensure staff contribute positively, sharing skills and mentoring to meet targets and KPIs.
Deliver compliance inspection, servicing, and remediation services to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Oversee data assurance activities to maintain and improve property and compliance data quality.
Foster a culture of accurate data management, ensuring compliance with data systems.
Provide strategic direction for procurement and contract delivery, ensuring legal and best practice standards.
Manage a capital and revenue budget exceeding £9 million.
Collaborate with Health and Safety and Assets teams to meet fire and building safety obligations.
What you'll need
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both verbal and written.
Strategic thinking with the ability to make evidence-based, data-informed decisions.
Ability to manage complex information while maintaining a focus on the broader picture.
Strong under-pressure performance, meeting deadlines and key performance indicators.
Innovation, creativity, and openness to new ways of thinking and working.
Strong technical knowledge of M&E services and compliance, with effective procurement and supplier management.
Proficiency in data quality, analysis, and compliance management tools.
Experience in managing team and departmental budgets, with relevant qualifications and knowledge of contract management and property maintenance compliance.
NEBOSH National and General Construction/equivalent.
A significant level of knowledge of contract management and delivery of contracts relating to servicing, maintenance and capital replacements.
An excellent understanding of the drivers for customer satisfaction in managing and delivering contracts.
Knowledge of all relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance areas relating to property maintenance.
