An exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced registered Pharmacy professional has become available at Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) for the Head of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme Delivery (Pharmacy) The role will be responsible for leading a team in the strategic development and coordination of the HEIW Pharmacy CPD programme to meet the educational needs of the whole pharmacy workforce and support achieving the outcomes of "Pharmacy: Delivering a Healthier Wales" and key NHS Wales strategic priorities. The postholder will ensure the HEIW CPD programme meets the statutory requirements of the Duty of Quality standards. The postholder will be expected to work with stakeholders and partners across Wales and the wider UK to ensure the programme meets service needs, encompassing regulation and future vision for the profession. The postholder will be expected to work collaboratively across HEIW to explore innovative ways to provide multi-disciplinary CPD. In addition, the post holder will be a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the broader strategic direction of the Pharmacy Deanery within the Medical Directorate at HEIW. The successful individual will be expected to work from our South Wales Head office, Ty Dysgu once per week and travel for external stakeholder meetings where required If you are looking for an exciting new challenge to work within education and training, then this job could be for you., The postholder will be expected to work with stakeholders and partners within Wales and the wider UK to ensure the Pharmacy Continuing Professional Development programme meets service needs, encompassing regulation and future vision, including

  • Engaging with senior stakeholders, developing and maintaining relationships with a range of key stakeholders (internal and external) across all programme areas, identifying areas of interdependency and forging links as appropriate e.g Welsh Government, All Wales Health Board employers and NHS contractor employers and professional organisations
  • Working in partnership for multi-organisation ownership and accountability
  • Managing projects at a national level
  • Represent HEIW in senior stakeholder meetings, briefings, conferences, workshops and other forums as appropriate
  • Be a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the broader strategic direction of the Pharmacy Deanery within the Medical Directorate in HEIW
  • Responsible for the HEIW performance and quality reporting requirements for this programme area Running consultations, workstream Committees and task and finish groups to understand and improve system requirements
  • Budget responsibility and accountability
  • Manage CPD regional team
  • There will be a need to demonstrate credibility across government bodies, healthcare organisations and senior stakeholders as the impact of the programme will be far reaching and high profile
