An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Head of Contracting and Commercial at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The senior role would be instrumental in leading the negotiation of the key contracts with commissioners ensuring the most favourable terms both financially and clinically. The role holder will implement the Trust Commercial Strategy and ensure that an effective commercial service is available for the Trust.
The post holder will operate as a visible member of the Trust's senior leadership team, establish collaborative working network with Associate Directors internally / Very Senior Management peers externally and contribute to the delivery of corporate strategy and organisation objectives., Leading the negotiation and monitoring of Healthcare Contracts, working closely to ensure the £800m Healthcare Contract Portfolio of the Trust is effectively negotiated and managed. Managing high complexity time critical negotiations to ensure financial risk management for the Trust.
Support the efficient and effective operational management of the Contracts & Commercial Department, aligning resources with priorities on a regular basis to ensure that the key priorities are delivered on time, with the maximum focus of staff resource into value-adding activities. These duties are critical to system level working and will be highly complex involving very significant technical skills across Statistics, Finance, Workforce and service development.
Working very closely with the Planning team and Key Performance Monitoring for the organisation alongside the maintenance of robust and accurate Contract activity and income forecasting systems. This will require converting complex multi-source datasets into insights for the Trust Senior Management, Trust Exec and System Senior Management., Provision of high quality and timely Commercial support /advice to the Trust Senior Management. Liaising and leading negotiations with Directors from Private Sector organisations managing multi million pound risks for the organisation and developing new business opportunities.
Leading the production of the ICS and Trust Annual Contracts of over £900m including Plan and regular local/regional/national reporting returns and final plans.
Working closely with the Business Support team giving advice on all income transactions, forecasts and budgets relating to commissioned contracts coordinating the completion of mandated templates, submissions and returns as required.
Supporting the achievement of all Contract activity & financial targets.
Provide support to the operational team with various projects and day-to-day tasks where needed. This includes assisting in the implementation of contract-related initiatives, offering guidance on contract management processes, and ensuring that operational tasks align with strategic objectives.
The post holder will be accountable for interpreting changes in government policy and assessing the financial impact of these changes on Trust Finances. They will propose and make changes to Trust policy as appropriate, ensuring that policies and procedures are developed and implemented in line with Trust and contractual requirements and obligations.
