Full Job Description

Job Purpose: Responsible for corporate pensions governance and undertaking key projects aimed at furthering the effective and efficient management and delivery of pension provision throughout the UK businesses. One direct report. Key tasks:

  • Corporate pensions governance and projects for UK&I - Responsibility and management of pension governance and projects to deliver effective and compliant pension provisions in UK&I. In addition, the nature of the role is that one-off projects arising over time will fall within the scope of this role.
  • Management of PPF levies and PPF compliant guarantee - Assessing and recommending actions that can be taken by DHL Group to control PPF levies. Manage relationships with key stakeholders and ensure collection of fees from UK businesses for PPF compliant guarantee.
  • Automatic pension re-enrolment and recertification - Project management of DHL Group's compliance with pension re-enrolment legislation across all UK employing entities. Regular compliance checks and recertification that each of the UK employer's pension arrangements meets the minimum standard required by legislation and re-enrolment duties have been fulfilled.
  • Financial reporting of pensions - Ownership of pensions team input to production of pension disclosures for Group and UK entity statutory accounts. Ensuring related controls that support production of the accounts are in place and fully documented. Supporting UK businesses with pensions P&L estimation and management.
  • DHL Group Retirement Plan valuation - Support to VP Pensions UK&I and the UK Pensions Committee (UKPC) in relation to pension plan funding valuations.
  • Liability management - Investigation and implementation of options to manage UK pension liabilities such as trivial commutation, transfer value or pension increase exchange exercises.
  • NHS contracts support and other external pension schemes - Supporting the business with the pensions aspects of its contracts with the NHS (bulk transfers and ongoing participation in public sector schemes) and other external pension schemes (SSE, Railway Pension Scheme).
  • Notifications to the Trustee or the UK Pensions Regulator - Ownership of employer-related events under the Notifiable Events regime for the UK Pensions Regulator. Ensuring DHL Group develops effective plans for communicating with the Trustee and the Pensions Regulator at the right time and adherence with the Information Sharing Protocol with the Trustee
  • Your profile:
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., APMI, Fellow of IFoA) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in corporate pensions governance, pensions consulting, or similar role
  • Strategic and operational expertise in UK pensions regulation and governance
  • Strong financial acumen for pensions reporting and disclosure
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK pensions regulatory environment and compliance
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong project management skills, ideally with formal methodologies
  • Analytical problem-solver with experience in liability management
  • Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic, project-based environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to ethical integrity
