Our Team

We're customer obsessed at Virgin Money and expanding our team to help support Customer Operations to deliver world class experiences. A key part of that is ensuring we've are operating within VM's Risk and Governance framework and we're keeping Customer Operations safe. We've an opportunity for a to lead the robust risk management framework across Customer Operations, to identify, assess and monitor our operational landscape and implement where appropriate the necessary mitigation actions.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead a small team of Risk & Control professionals with responsibility for developing a robust risk management framework for Customer Operations. Ensuring alignment with the bank's overall risk management strategy and regulatory requirements, and established protocols to maintain risk policies, procedures, and control.

  • Accountable for risk identification and assessment across Customer Operations. Leading the identification, assessment, and monitoring of operational, compliance, credit, and market risks.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and scenario analyses to identify potential threats.

  • Implement risk indicators and metrics to monitor risk exposure.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of risk incidents and issues and seek to foster a culture of risk awareness and effective risk communication.

    Comprehensive leadership experience in a 1st line risk operational business area, preferably within Financial Services

  • Demonstrable experience in successfully assessing materiality and likelihood of risk at a strategic level

  • Ability to identify material risks and mitigations based on business priorities and likelihood of materialising

  • Experience of engaging, collaborating, and influencing with senior stakeholders across the business

  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes and the ability to integrate risk management into processes.

  • Deep understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools, with operational risk experience

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements, particularly Vulnerable Customers, and Consumer Duty standards.

  • Significant experience in successfully creating and leading high performing teams with a passion for developing colleagues.
