Full Job Description
The Head of Development will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of software applications, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership and planning skills, and a passion for driving innovation.,
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software applications. (S4UK)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leads (Talend/S.I./X-Roads, etc.) to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices through code reviews and testing.
- Manage development project timelines, onshore /offshore development resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and roadblocks.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and progress.
- Coordinate with the QA team to prioritize the QA pipeline for S4UK changes.
- Track and manage budget Vs forecast costs for development ensuring that any under/ overspend is investigated and communicated.
Experience as IT Senior Leadership team member or in a similar role. - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong proficiency in SYNON model (Designer/Programmer).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- While primarily a waterfall environment, exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies is beneficial but not essential.
