We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Emerging Talent to lead our early careers strategy for a 1-year fixed term contract. This pivotal role will ensure that Skanska attracts, develops, and retains top-tier graduates, interns, trainees, and apprentices. As the Head of Emerging Talent, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our early careers strategy across Skanska UK. Your efforts will ensure that our current and future skills requirements of Skanska are met by leading the attraction, assessment, onboarding, and development of our early careers population. You will be responsible for the following in this role:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing clear plans for early career attraction, assessment, onboarding and development processes while embedding a one Skanska approach.
  • Support Recruitment: Assisting Operating Units and Enabling Functions in making effective early careers recruitment choices that align with current and future skill gaps.
  • Team Leadership: Leading the Emerging Talent team to ensure they are engaged and aligned with business needs.
  • Attraction & Assessment Plans: Developing sourcing solutions focused on increasing diversity using innovative approaches.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Tracking success metrics for emerging talent early careers initiatives; provide regular reports as part of monthly/quarterly cycles.
  • Programme Development: Reviewing emerging talent early careers programmes to align with business needs and industry standards.
  • Social Value Activities: Leading early career related social value activities aligned with our social value strategy.
  • HR Collaboration: Actively participating in the Talent and Capability Management Team and collaborating with the HR operations team, to contribute to the broader HR agenda.

    Proven leadership experience in HR or Talent Acquisition.
  • Expertise in developing and managing emerging talent early careers programmes including graduate schemes and apprenticeships.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes, learning theories, D&I principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of influencing senior management.
